Where things stand -

  • Nearly +$223 billion in total higher spending authority (i.e., “budget authority”) for FY2025-2026.

  • Largest Increases: +$205 billion for Immigration and Domestic Security/Emergency programs and +$158 billion for Defense programs.

  • Largest Decreases: -$159 billion for Education and Training programs, -$16.7 billion for Domestic Healthcare and Nutrition programs, and -$16.2 billion for Environment and Interior programs.
